  • The F1 champion's son capped the third race of the inaugural event on his F4 powered by Abarth.
  • Very spectacular motoring at Oschersleben with forty or so drivers competing on the track.
  • Two wins for Germany's Marvin Dienst and promising results for Italy's Drudi.
  • Next week the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth to start in Vallelunga.

Outstanding success for the ADAC Formula 4 Powered by Abarth kick-off event at Oschersleben in Germany. The last of the three races was won by Mick Schumacher, sixteen-year-old son of champion Michael. This was no easy feat considering the media pressure surrounding him and no fewer than 180 reporters from the world over who came to watch a promotional formula, which despite being staged in Germany is all Italian.

The Abarth T-Jet 1400 cc engines deliver 160 hp and are ideal to make the Tatuus single-seater fast and perfect for learning racing skills. ADAC (the German Automobile Club) chose Abarth also in the wake of the results of the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth in 2014 in which the competitiveness and reliability of engine and chassis were put to the test.

The Formula 4 single-seater category is supported by FIA President Jean Todt and designed to allow young drivers to rapidly graduate from go-karting to driving real, high-performing cars. The drivers are aged from 15 to 18 and have go-kart racing experience. Mick Schumacher himself was third in the 2013 German Championship and second in the 2014 World and European Championships before debuting on the single-seater powered by Abarth.

With 40 or so drivers lining up on the grid, the three races at Oschersleben were very spectacular. The first two were won by 18 year old Marvin Dienst, ahead of Estonian Aron Ralf in Race 1 and Holland's Janneau Esmeijer in Race 2. Mick Schumacher came first and Australian Joey Mawson came second in Race 3. Worth mentioning are the promising results of Italy's Mattia Drudi, who was third in Race 1, fifth in Race 2 and seventh in Race 3.

The championship ranking is now led by Dienst, followed by Ralf and Mawson. Drudi is fourth and Schumacher fifth.

The next event of the ADAC Formula 4 Powered by Abarth calendar will be staged in Austria at the Red Bull Ring from June 5 to 7. The Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, on the other hand, will be starting next weekend on the Vallelunga race track near Rome.

Expo Milano 2015 opens tomorrow. From now until 31 October 2015, this Universal Exhibition will be showcasing the best of the world's technologies that can hope to provide a concrete response to a vital need: guaranteeing healthy, safe and sufficient food for everyone without harming our Planet and its delicate environmental balance. The Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and CNH Industrial are taking part in this prestigious event as Official Global Partners. Their significant efforts in favour of a responsible management of business ventures and their products in three major areas such as automobiles, agriculture and transport provide a clear indication of how much they share the ideals of the greatest event ever held on food and nutrition.

The event's central theme is "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life", which also involves making mindful choices, promoting sustainable life styles, using state-of-the-art technologies and finding a balance between resource availability and its consumption. Sustainability runs through the entire event and FCA has always made it one of its top priorities. This stands out particularly in our products and our research and development activities as well as in our initiatives linked to sustainable mobility and our investments in the development of new vehicles capable of combining accessibility and innovation.

Further proof is provided by the video we have created for the Expo Milan 2015 which can be viewed by clicking on this link. Conceived by the Armando Testa agency, the film is an exciting alternation of natural landscapes and urban settings where the protagonists are people of different nationalities and ages. Appearing with them are also Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Jeep and Fiat Professional products, which ensure maximum freedom of movement while fully respecting the environment. While these striking images follow one another, an off-screen voice "dialogues" directly with the Earth, recalling how life is a journey that mankind undertook long ago. Now more than ever it is necessary to continue this path with the awareness that everyone is responsible for safeguarding the environment. FCA makes a commitment on several fronts and some of the important results achieved so far are shown in the manifesto video, which ends with the claim: "Life is a journey, let's make it sustainable".

The Expo Milan 2015 organisation relies on a fleet of FCA vehicles featuring low emissions and alternative fuels, which fully comply with sustainable mobility precepts. They will be used to accompany the many delegations of guests arriving from all over the world. The fleet comprises a total of 105 vehicles, of which 35 are already being used by the staff of Expo 2015 S.p.A. (ten Fiat 500L Living, four Fiat 500L Trekking and twenty-one methane-powered Fiat 500L Natural Power). Another 70 have been assigned to the delegations from the exhibiting countries: these include fifty Fiat 500L Natural Power, which can also run on bio-methane and ten electric Fiat 500e, for internal use around the exhibition area. Six Jeep Gran Cherokee, two Lancia Voyager and two Maserati Quattroporte are also on hand as official show cars.

In addition to producing increasingly sustainable products, FCA's commitment to sustainability is also apparent in a series of initiatives and projects aiming to improve the experience of millions of our customers worldwide, of our around 300 thousand employees and over 3,000 supplier companies. These initiatives are clearly set out each year in FCA's Sustainability Report that for over ten years now has been outlining the results the group has achieved along with its future goals. The latest edition describes the progress made by the Group in 2014, the year that marked the completion of the integration process between Fiat and Chrysler, which began in 2009. "The merging of the two groups has enabled us to become the world's seventh largest automobile manufacturer and one which views sustainability as the best path to ensure value and dignity to the results achieved" claims Sergio Marchionne, CEO of FCA. The same commitment is reflected in the words of John Elkann, Chairman of FCA: "The creation of FCA has changed the destiny of our two companies forever, but it has not changed our commitment to responsible and sustainable development."

The Group's main results can be best appreciated in The 2014 Sustainability Report, which can be found at the following link. To get to know all the events and news concerning FCA's involvement in Expo Milan 2015 one can refer to a special section of the Fcagroup website, accessible via this link.

Accessible solutions for all

Ecology and economics are two concepts which run side by side, and not just because there's a direct correlation between a car's emissions and its fuel consumption. In fact, according to the FCA Group, technological solutions that might reduce the environmental impact of cars must be made available to the largest number of people possible if they are to have a tangible effect. For FCA, making the most advanced solutions available to everyone is a non-negotiable value, so that innovation can translate into concrete advantages for both the environment and its customers.

FCA has always been in the front line in the development of alternative and affordable fuels by adopting a very clear strategy: investing in technological solutions that are easy to understand, simple to use and provide tangible short term benefits. That's why the Group has decided to opt for methane, the cleanest and most economically viable fuel currently available, which is also a potentially renewable energy source thanks to the development of bio-methane: after all, from a well-to-wheel point of view, a bio-methane powered vehicle can achieve CO2 emission levels that are comparable to those of an electric vehicle.

Over the last 15 years, Fiat has created a new market which has only recently witnessed the appearance of other manufacturers, and it is currently the European leader for vehicles run on methane from the outset, with over 650,000 units sold since 1997. Today its range of methane vehicles boasts 12 models, which include both cars and commercial vehicles, and this has enabled the company to be awarded the Auto Europe 2014 award in the methane category.

The FCA strategy in the field of sustainable mobility also includes other innovative solutions based on their own next generation Multijet and MultiAir technologies which improve traditional propulsion engines (running on both petrol and diesel) in terms of both efficiency and emission reduction; the infomobility system UConnectTM with its My:CarTM app which guarantees a correct car maintenance program; the innovative twin-clutch automatic gearbox; the eco:Drive platform which analyses the driving style based on the data collected by the vehicle and provides personal suggestions on how to reduce consumption and emissions; the Start & Stop system that reduces emissions and consumption on urban routes; and finally the new frontier for sustainable mobility represented by Enjoy, Eni's Car Sharing service developed jointly with Fiat and Trenitalia.

Increasingly sustainable plants thanks to WCM

In 2014, FCA invested Euro 3.7 billion, 2.3 of which in the two most advanced and up-to-date FCA plants (Pernambuco, Brazil and Melfi, Italy), which will be manufacturing the new Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X.

One of the Group's priorities is extending its World Class Manufacturing programme throughout FCA plants across the world, which will undoubtedly lead to improvements in both environmental protection and health and safety. The WCM is a very carefully thought out production process that involves the entire organisation, covering all phases of product production and distribution, and represents the tangible application of the environmental sustainability model developed by the Group.

Of the 112 industrial sites that have adopted the WCM program, 54 have been granted performance level awards: 38 have achieved Bronze medal status, 12 Silver and 4 Gold. Furthermore, between 2009 and 2014, 389 plants of FCA supplier companies introduced the WCM methodology: 259 are located in the EMEA area, 95 in LATAM and 42 in NAFTA.

Protection of natural resources

Over the course of 2014 approximately 48,000 projects were launched that were connected to WCM, many of which were aimed at reducing environmental impact and around 3,700 of these have brought about considerable reductions in natural resource consumption. For example, in 2014, the Group saved 3.3 billion m3 of water and reduced waste by 65 million kilos. It is also worth noting that 20.4% of the electricity used by the Group for its manufacturing processes worldwide is produced from renewable sources.

Biodiversity and respect for surrounding areas

Sustainability also involves taking care to preserve biodiversity in the areas surrounding the plants. A very important project that has this very goal in mind is currently underway at our Pernambuco plant (Brazil). To safeguard the eco-system and especially the local flora, FCA will be planting over 130,000 trees over the next few years, which will include a selection of 250 of the over 600 indigenous species. So far, we have planted 38,000 trees and the number will gradually increase thanks to the nursery built near the plant. The nursery will provide approximately 22,000 new trees every three months, ready to be planted by the local students during organised visits to the plant: this is a hands-on way of teaching the younger generations the importance of biodiversity and of the protection of their natural heritage. Similar initiatives are being run near the plant in Verrone (Italy), at the FCA head office in the USA (Auburn Hills, Michigan) and at the Indian FIAPL site in Rangajon.

Wellbeing of people and correct diet

FCA considers the health and well-being of its own workers to be a top priority in all its companies in all the countries in which it operates. All the social actions undertaken in the various areas are part and parcel of this: in 2014 alone, the Group donated over Euro 24 million to local communities.

In 2012, the "Health Promotion Programme" was launched, consisting of various projects developed and promoted both locally and centrally, with the aim of improving the physical and mental well-being of our employees and their families by making them aware of the importance of a healthy diet. The programme is based on the health and safety principles drawn up by the main international organisations, first and foremost the World Health Organisation (WHO), the American Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO).

Prestigious global awards

The Group's commitment towards a responsible business management model has been acknowledged over the years by many sustainability rating organisations and agencies. Among the many rankings the Group can claim to be a part of, for the sixth year running, FCA has been confirmed not only in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI), but also as one of the leaders in the Italy 100 Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) and in the Italy 100 Carbon Performance Leadership Index (CPLI). Among the many other acknowledgements received by FCA, a special mentions should go to the "Lean & Green Management Award 2014", assigned to the Pomigliano d'Arco plant (Italy); the "AEA Environment Award" that has been granted to the "Árvore da Vida" program promoted by FCA Brazil and the "Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles Gold Award" that was awarded to FCA US.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Official Global Partner of Expo Milano 2015, together with its brands, welcomes all the visitors to the event with an outdoor campaign composed of high impact maxi-boards, posters and video installations.

Set up in the busiest areas inside Rho station and at the main entrances of Expo 2015, the campaign is based on the universal language of flags to transmit the message with which FCA, as a Global Partner, welcomes the whole world over the next six months.

The idea of the campaign, born out of the creativity of the Independent Ideas agency, sees over 150 subjects moving around the different spaces set up in the communication plan. This involves the different flags of all the guest Countries attending Expo Milano 2015, rethought and redesigned using images of the cars of the various brands - Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Jeep and Lancia - each with a different communication code in line with its own language and positioning.

An invitation to all nations taking part to discover the design, style and values of Italy by virtue of all the brands of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group which belong to the largest Italian family.

But this is not the only form of FCA's welcome. Visitors will actually be welcomed and accompanied around Milan with a special digital (at this link) guide, which can be downloaded for free on to smartphones. The guide is available for Android and will be released soon for IOS. A paper guide will also be available in public venues in Lombardy's capital city and in other major Italian cities. "Milano Expo Guide 2015 by FCA" is the official guide that lets you experience the city during the six months of the event and where you can find information on museums, exhibitions, concerts, restaurants, bars, street food, traditional cuisine, hotels, clubs and DJ sets.

The guide will be the perfect "tutor" to highlight the events organised by the various FCA brands, each of which will cover one area of the city, offering the public a series of activities in line with their own particular values. The "Milano Expo Guide 2015 by FCA" app can also be used to plan a tour of Italy based on the itineraries suggested by Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Jeep and Lancia to visit the country following different routes: the iconic Fiat locations in Italy, the most panoramic roads for the pleasure of driving Alfa Romeo, the wine areas to explore with Jeep and the most fashionable corners to discover with Lancia.

FCA's presence

As well as providing an official fleet of 105 vehicles used by the organisation and as courtesy cars for the various delegations which will arrive from all over the world, FCA will be present inside the Expo Milano 2015 exhibition space with an area of 200 square metres in the Corporate Building, where it will welcome the twenty million visitors expected. FCA is also present in the United States pavilion with the RAM brand, the American brand of commercial vehicles, with six Ducato vehicles set up as Food Trucks in the Food Truck Nation area. To demonstrate our dedication to alternative fuels, a Fiat 500e has been exhibited next to an electrical charging point in the ENEL space, another Official Global Partner of the event.

In addition, the Fiat brand is present inside the Expo exhibition space with a very special, environmentally sustainable, urban design project in line with the values of the event: planters, pots and benches have all been coated with a special paint which purifies the air. Thanks to Fiat, it is as if the plants in the flowerpots are able to "increase" their benefits by improving the air around them. The eight planters are also true artistic installations, created for Fiat directly by the designer, Fabio Novembre, who has created a Fiat 500 to a scale of 1:1.

To keep you constantly updated on everything taking place over the next six months, FCA is inaugurating a section on its web site dedicated entirely to Expo Milano 2015. Space will be given to a collection of contents regarding the activities of our group during the event, taken from the social media pages of our Brands and of Expo.

  • Alfa Romeo is the Gold Sponsor of the historic commemoration of the "most beautiful race in the world" which will start and finish in Brescia. Among the 464 automobiles registered, two exclusive cars of the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo stand out: the "1900 Sport Spider" (1954) and the "750 Competizione" (1955).
  • Alongside the new Giulietta Sprint that pays tribute to the 1954 icon. In honour of EXPO 2015, a passage is planned at the Villa Reale in Monza, one of the institutional headquarters of the Lombardy Region, and later, to the nearby Autodromo Nazionale.

As the Gold Sponsor, Alfa Romeo will participate at the 2015 edition of the historic commemoration of the Mille Miglia, the "most beautiful race in the world" - according to the famous definition of Enzo Ferrari - which will start from Brescia on Thursday, May 14 and return on Sunday, May 17, after passing through some of the most picturesque locations of Italy.

The brand is showcasing two official cars from the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo - the "1900 Sport Spider" (1954) and the "750 Competizione" (1955), two exclusive high-performance roadsters. It is worth to remember that the Biscione cars triumphed eleven times at Mille Miglia ‒ a record of success that will never be beaten. And this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of Pintacuda and Della Stufa with the Tipo B "P3" specially prepared for the 1935 edition, followed in ranking by five other Alfa Romeo cars.

Some race and some adventure, the 33th edition of the "Freccia Rossa" will feature 464 cars entered by teams from 42 countries that will face a challenging course of 1,760 km. The regular race consists of 84 special tests including 76 traditional tests and 8 medium ones. What many consider as "the most prestigious travelling museum in the world" will also halt at the Villa Reale in Monza, institutional headquarters of the Lombardy Region, and at the Autodromo Nazionale, on the occasion of Expo 2015 of which Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and CNH Industrial are the Official Global Partners. Therefore, one more reason to keep this prestigious appointment that gathers the warmth and admiration of the public every year: a clear sign that these cars still elicit strong emotions, even in the younger people who throng the squares.

In detail, the "1900 Sport Spider" is a racing roadster equipped with a 4-cylinder DOHC engine of the "1900", dry sump, brought to a maximum power of 138 hp, that launches the car at 220 km/h, thanks to a weight of 880 kilograms and particularly efficient aerodynamics. The "1900 SS " is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox and a De Dion rear axle ‒ the performance and drivability of the car are modern, responsive and sincere, with a high grip. The design was implemented by Bertone: compact and essential, it transmits the "dynamism" typical of all Alfa Romeo cars.

The second car showcased is the "750 Competizione", which is also a competition roadster, created in 1955 to compete in the "sports up to 1.5 litres" category. The "750", whose name incorporates the code-type of the almost contemporary "Giulietta", is designed using a 4-cylinder DOHC engine with a light alloy of the "Giulietta", with displacement increased to 1488 cc and with "double switch ". The maximum power goes up to 145 hp (reached at 9,500 rpm) that allows it to reach a speed of 220 km/h. The powertrain is mounted in the front-central position, so as to optimize the weight distribution. Behind the wheel the "750 Competizione" is ready and responsive, incredibly effective at high speeds. The style of the body, which differs from all other Alfa Romeo cars from the first half of the 1950s, is by Boano.

Alongside these rarities of the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo, the Giulietta Sprint will also parade under the banner of that unbreakable "fil rouge" between the cars of the past and those produced currently. Excellent aesthetics, exciting performance and top technological equipment, make this new version the natural heir of the historic Giulietta Sprint that 60 years ago won fans from around the world. It was the Giulietta in the 1950s that made motorists dream, making their desire of owning an Alfa Romeo, accessible, for the first time. Today it is up to the new Giulietta Sprint to pick up the baton and pay tribute to the icon of 1954, founder of an entire class of cars and one of the emblematic products of Made in Italy.

Mille Miglia 2015: Lancia retraces the history of “the finest race in the world”

  • The 33th edition of the Mille Miglia will take place from May 14 to 17. The race will start and end in Brescia and 464 cars will be taking part
  • Lancia will be present with two cars from the Historical Collection and two special guests: Cesare Fiorio driving an "Aurelia B20 GT" (1951) and Kasia Smutniak in an "Ardea"(1939).
  • By their side, Ypsilon "30th Anniversary", the special series which celebrates one of the world's longest running auto models.
  • The cars will be passing by Villa Reale in Monza, one of official sites of the Lombardy local authorities, to honour EXPO 2015, of which Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and CNH Industrial are Official Global Partners.

Lancia will be taking part in the 2015 re-enactment of the legendary Mille Miglia with two cars from the Historical Collection. The race will start off from Brescia on Wednesday 13 May, reach Roma along the Adriatic Coast and turn back to Brescia, crossing Tuscany and Emilia.

Special guests Cesare Fiorio and Kasia Smutniak will be in a 1951 "Aurelia B20 GT" and a beautiful 1939 first series "Ardea". A Lancia Ypsilon "30th Anniversary" will be following them. The three cars are characteristic of the brand's sophistication and innovation, but in different ways. Since 1937, Lancia has made medium range models to complete the top-end ranges, all full of unmistakable Lancia elegance and refinement.

The Lancia Aurelia B20 GT was designed as a classic Gran Turismo, to satisfy the needs of the most exacting Lancia clientele and repeat the success of the Aprilia. Pininfarina created a streamline, elegant two-door coupé body. The car fitted sophisticated mechanical solutions: independent wheel front suspensions with helical spring, hydraulic shocks on the front axle and hydraulic telescopic shocks on the rear. The engine was the combination of power and flexibility: the 2-litre V6 delivered 80 HP and reached a top speed of 162 km/h. The Aurelia B20 was immediately noticed for its looks but also for its acceleration and its road holding features. It was remarkably quiet. It was a classic Lancia lounge, for travelling in style, comfortably and safety which also delivered outstanding performance.

As a natural consequence, it was signed up for various racing competitions and in 1951 four standard production cars with special tuning took part in the Mille Miglia obtaining excellent results and winning the second place absolute. This was the promising start of the B20's excellent racing career. It would go on to winning Rally del Sestriere, Giro di Toscana, 24 Hours of Le Mans and Giro di Sicilia. In this edition of the "finest race in the world", as it was dubbed by Enzo Ferrari, it will be driven by Cesare Fiorio, who was Italian GT champion with Lancia before acting as Lancia racing team manager from the 1962 to 1989, collecting 18 world titles in various competitions.

Kasia Smutniak, instead, will be riding in the co-driver's seat of the Lancia Ardea. The actress - Polish by birth and Italian by adoption - established Associazione Pietro Taricone Onlus charity in 2011 and is personally involved in building and managing a school for Nepalese children in Mustang. In these extremely difficul times for Nepal, the Pietro Taricone charity is working with Fondazione Francesca Rava - NPH Onlus (www.nph.org) to get relief to remote areas which are very difficult to reach. The actress' entire remuneration for taking part in the Mille Miglia will go towards the Nepal emergency. This and other projects that the charity is currently working on can be helped by donations to www.pietrotaricone-onlus.org.

The Polish model and actress's presence the consolidated link between Lancia and women, demonstrated by the evolution of the Ardea and the thirty years of success of Ypsilon, which has always expressed the multifaceted world of women. Lancia Ardea was commissioned by Vincenzo Lancia's widow Adele Miglietti, who wanted to develop her husband's idea of reproducing the glorious Aprilia, which had already gathered much admiration from motorists and experts, on a 9:10 scale. The result was a small, easy-to-handle car with a modern, aerodynamic design. The Ardea was fuel-efficient and brilliant. It also fitted the smallest engine ever made by Lancia: a 903 cc delivering 28 HP with a top speed of 108 km/h and fuel consumption of 7.2 litres per 100 km.

Only 3.615 metres long, the Ardea picked up all the technological solution adopted on the other models, like the independent wheel front suspensions, the rear Silentbloc bushings and the four-speed, quick-shift gearbox. Despite its compact size, it had all the typical elegance and refinement of a Lancia: soft fabric interiors with leather available on demand, complete instruments and many useful touches, like a clock and a satin rear window curtain.

Today's round shape of the Lancia Ypsilon are inspired by the Ardea, and also for this reason the Ypsilon "30th Anniversary" will be parading alongside the rarities from the Lancia Historical Collection. This new special series sports a celebratory badge on the pillars and a sophisticated new Blue Oltremare livery which is reminiscent of Lancia's best tradition. The new Ypsilon captures all the elegance, originality, care for detail and rich equipment which has always characterised the model for thirty years in only 3.84 metres of length: alloy rims, fabric and Castiglio interiors, ESC, manual climate control system, CD and MP3 radio with Blue&Me technology, controls on the steering wheel and chrome-plate tailpipe.

In a suggestive "prêt-à-porter" fashion setting, today marks the media presentation of a new colourful and functional Special Series, created in collaboration with the quintessential rainproof brand blending casual with fashion. Twenty colour combinations, detailing in titanium tones, specific interiors and a generous series of smart standard fittings: the Panda K-Way® is an ideal choice for the metropolitan-minded customer.

After its world preview at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the new Panda K-Way® Special Series - created in collaboration with the quintessential rainproof brand that blends casual with fashion - is today presented to the international press. These are two brands with a lot in common, famous the world over for products which are classic, contemporary, technological, functional, colourful and intelligent. An example? The new Panda K-Way®, the first product to be "signed" by the two international brands.

The location chosen for this event is Milan's "La Pelota", an unusual eclectic multifunctional space in the city's most fashionable quarter, recently recharged by a radical renovation. Here, exploiting the extraordinary length of the space, an original kind of runway has been prepared, evoking the catwalks of fashion, on which this special new Fiat Panda made its glamorous debut, coinciding with its arrival in Fiat Showrooms in Italy, soon to be followed by those in other European markets.

Targeting dynamic and unashamedly urban customers, the Panda K-Way® offers 20 different colour combinations, confirming this model's natural predisposition for maximum personalization. In practice, customers can choose any one of six bodywork colours - blue, white, black, red, yellow and orange - and then choose wing mirrors and hubcaps in one of four colours: yellow, orange, blue and titanium.

The assertive personality of the Panda K-Way® is also evident in the way that certain elements are highlighted in titanium, such as the front logo bar, the roof bars, wheel trims and mirror caps. On top of this, the rear doors and the mirror caps boast original K-Way® stickers, and the hubcaps are embellished with the logo of the rainproof brand par excellence.

The same bold personalisation rules the interiors, dominated by seats in blue fabric and grey leatherette, with the K-Way® logo on the front-facing seat surface, as well as on the blue dashboard and the UltraShine silver instrument panel. The distinctive K-Way® colours also stand out on the personalised seat belts, on the key cover and on the floor blue multilayer PVC carpets. Last but not least, the seats have two pockets on the seat back equipped with "VISIBAG®", the high-visibility vest - pocket safety device created ad hoc for Fiat by its partner K-Way®.

On its launch, the Panda K-Way® offers a wide range of engine options. Depending on the markets, these include 69 HP 1.2 petrol engines and 0.9 TwinAir (65 or 85 HP) options, Bi-fuel 0.9 TwinAir Methane 80 HP and 69 HP 1.2 LPG. Before long a turbodiesel 1.3 Multijet option will be added.

Beyond the K-Way® personalisation, standard fittings also feature an outstanding 6-speaker radio CD/Mp3 set, electric front windows, ABS safety systems including BAS and EBD, headrests on front and rear seats, four airbags (driver, passenger and window bags), GSI (Gear Shift Indicator) and Start&Stop system (only on TwinAir and Multijet engines).

The collaboration between Fiat and K-Way® also extends into a special licensing, accessories and merchandising line created by Mopar, the dedicated brand for services, Customer Care, original spare parts and accessories for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles brands. The new collection adopts the same style features and materials used by the K-Way® brand, reinterpreted for Panda customers: from foldable rainproof jackets to supermarket shopping bags and from pocket-contents holders to shoppers for trend-setting women. These products are available either on the Fiat store or from certain selected dealers.

About K-Way®

The K-Way® brand is owned by BasicNet SpA, a company that also owns Kappa®, Robe di Kappa®, Lanzera®, Jesus® Jeans, Superga®, AnziBesson® and Sabelt®, leading brands in clothing, footwear and accessories for sport and free-time. BasicNet operates world-wide through a network of licensed companies who produce or distribute the Group brands products. BasicNet provides them with research and development as well as product industrialisation and global marketing services. All of these company processes take place exclusively via the internet, which makes BasicNet a "fully web integrated company". BasicNet, headquartered in Turin, has been listed on the Italian stock market since 1999.

Mopar® presents its exclusive collection dedicated to the Fiat Panda K-Way®

Today is the day for the media presentation of a new colourful and functional Special Series, offspring of the collaboration between Fiat and the quintessential rainproof brand, marrying casual with fashion. And Mopar® is part of the event, presenting its exclusive collection of licensing, accessories and merchandising, available either from the Fiat store or from Fiat dealer network.

After its world preview at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, today sees the press presentation of the new Panda K-Way® Special Series, created through the collaboration between Fiat and the ultimate rainproof brand: a winning blend of casual with fashion. This event will be staged in the "La Pelota" multifunctional space in Milan, on a spectacularly original runway evoking high fashion moods and models, where the latest Fiat Panda version makes its debut, initially for sale in Italy alone, and soon afterwards in other European markets.

And Mopar® is very much a part of the event: the dedicated brand for services, Customer Care, original spare parts and accessories for all Fiat Chrysler Automobiles brands will be taking its share of the spotlight, proposing its collection of licensing options, accessories and merchandising, devised for this model.

The new collection adopts the same style features and materials used by the K-Way® brand in its rainproof clothing and accessories lines, but reinterpreted for Panda customers: from storable rainproof jackets to supermarket shopping bags and from pocket-contents holders to shoppers for trend-setting women. These products are all available either on the Fiat store or from certain selected dealers.

As well as the special merchandising collection, Mopar offers Panda K-Way® customers numerous exclusive services, starting from its "Mopar Vehicle Protection", ensuring owner tranquillity. Its service contracts are the only ones guaranteed by FCA, and propose extensive coverage of mechanical parts and model-specific maintenance plans, as well as a breakdown and repair service carried out by specialist technicians using original spare parts only.

On top of this, the new Panda K-Way® owner can also count on the "Ciao Fiat Mobile" app, which supplies information and assistance in mobility. Available free on Apple Store and Google Play, Fiat's mobile app comes in five languages and covers 15 European countries. Panda K-Way® owners also have the option of @Fiat Care, the Twitter profile where customers find help with their assistance needs through a team of special operators from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Here is a detailed description of the articles in the exclusive collection created for the Fiat Panda K-Way®.

Dashboard bag

This large and practical marsupial bag (for documents, wallets, etc.) is designed to fit perfectly into the dashboard design of this car. It is Panda-shaped and Panda-logoed, with a "K-Way®" logo on the outside. Handle and zipper are in K-Way® fabric. Thanks to its product-specific shape and the materials and accessories used, this marsupial bag is a cult object which adds another special touch to the special series owner.

Small objects holder

With a cylindrical shape and an appealing design, this exclusive product fits into the Panda's front storage compartment, making it possible to tidily store coins, keys and all those things in your jacket or trouser pockets. Made with original K-Way® materials and accessories, this container has a K-Way® zip on the top, for opening the circular cover with the Panda logo.

Trolley bag

This sturdy and original shopping bag allows you to put all your shopping in a single bag: it is designed to be attached directly to the supermarket trolley, filled to the brim and then put straight into the Panda K-Way® boot. It has a clever mechanism for folding into itself, with a K-Way ® zip, which compacts it into a practical container. An accessory with tidy dimensions and a confident logo-boasting exterior.

Bag and Shopping Bag

Both these Panda K-Way® accessories (size M) can be folded neatly into Nylon Plus packets with contrasting-coloured interiors. Both also use K-Way® zips, have polyester handles and shoulder straps and bright "Panda" and "K-Way®" logos printed on the outside. The Bag has a detachable shoulder strap and two external pockets with K-Way® zips, while the Shopping Bag has one external pocket with a special zip.

Rainproof jacket

"K-Way® Le Vrai Claude 3.0": a stunning evolution of the classic K-Way® rainproof jacket, foldable and waterproof. One special feature is its new Nylon Ripstop (WP+MVP 3000mm) material, which makes this garment water resistant, breathable, windproof and heat sealed. With a single unisex regular fit size, the rainproof jacket boasts perky printed "Panda" and "K-Way®" logos and other eye-catching black elements such as zip pullers, drawstring stoppers and marsupial clips. Storable in pouch bags and featuring a ventilation opening on the back, all original K-Way® zips, two pockets, elastic drawstring waist and shaped hood with visor and adjustable elastic drawstring.

Natural gas and biomethane take centre stage in Brussels with FCA and CNH Industrial

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and CNH Industrial took part in the "(Bio)Methane, The Road to Sustainable Mobility" conference, held yesterday in Brussels - at the Bibliothèque Solvay - in partnership with the European natural gas associations for transportation (NGVA Europe - Natural Gas Vehicles Association) and biogas (EBA - European Biogas Association).

The event was a great opportunity to revisit the virtuous circle of biomethane and its benefits, with reference to European policies for sustainable mobility. It also presented an important occasion for the principal representatives of European institutions and industry to come together.

A number of experts and sector stakeholders took part in the conference, including: Stefan Back, from the European Economic and Social Committee; Nikolaus von Peter, Member of Cabinet of Transport Commissioner Violeta BULC; Matthias Maedge, NGVA Europe, Deputy Secretary General & Director EU Affairs; Jan Stambasky, European Biogas Association (EBA), President; Dietrich Klein, Copa (European Farmers) - Cogeca (European Agri Cooperatives), Chairman of the Working Group on Bioenergy; Stefano Bozzetto, representing the Italian Biogas Consortium in Europe and a Member of the EBA Board; Stephane Gigou, Head of Product Portfolio Planning for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at FCA; Michele Ziosi, head of Institutional Relationships for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at CNH Industrial; Mathieu Lefebvre, Biogas Business Developer at Air Liquide; and Giovanni La Via, President of the European Parliamentary Commission on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety.

Biomethane is a renewable fuel obtained from the process of upgrading biogas. It can be used in existing distribution networks without additional costs and is suitable for natural gas-powered vehicles that can run on biofuels. Implementation procedures are expected to take place soon in Italy following approval in December of 2013. Recent measures taken by the European Union have also recognised it as an advanced biofuel, given its strategic value in transport and for its contribution with respect to Directive 2009/28/EC on Renewable Sources.

According to the Italian Biogas Consortium, the proposed model is that of 'Biomethane done right'. This model foresees the development of natural gas in the context of agricultural enterprise through the use of by-products, waste from livestock and crop integration. As per law, Italy has already defined objectives for the production of sustainable biofuels and has already established a quota of 2 per cent by 2020.

The occasion in Brussels offered FCA and CNH Industrial the chance to demonstrate their continued commitment to promoting biomethane and natural gas as an alternative means of achieving increasingly sustainable mobility.

"We as institutions, industry and civil society must continue to work together to meet the increasingly ambitious goals related to reducing CO2  emissions. Biomethane is a product that needs to be invested in and innovated, because it can make an important contribution to enhancing the agricultural sector as well as mobility that is truly sustainable", remarked Giovanni La Via, Chairman of the European Parliament's Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, at the conference.

Michele Ziosi (Head of Institutional Relations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at CNH Industrial): "Biomethane is a strategically valuable fuel, ideal for future agricultural applications and already usable on the road with natural gas-powered vehicles. It represents a key component in a truly revolutionary moment for the transport sector, with real and immediate environmental, economic and industrial benefits. Furthermore, it is an excellent opportunity to achieve real sustainability".

Stephane Gigou (Head of Product Portfolio Planning for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at FCA): "Natural gas and biomethane are key elements in FCA's strategy for sustainable mobility. As a European leader for more than 15 years in this sector, FCA offers a wide range of natural gas-powered vehicles which have already been adapted to run on natural gas. To enable this technology to develop and fulfil its potential, the expansion of the distribution network remains one of the key factors at this time".

“In Adventure We Trust!”: the second edition of Camp Jeep is ready to go
  • From 10 July to 12: "rendez-vous en France" for the Camp Jeep 2nd Edition.
  • Camp Jeep is the annual international meeting organised by the Jeep Owners Group (JOG), the only Jeep official club, which is now active in 17 countries in the EMEA region.
  • Three days devoted to adventure, freedom and outdoor activities.
  • A central village reflecting the Jeep brand values, a well-equipped camp with all-day animations.
  • Four off-road free tracks and one 4x4 testing area with the help of the Jeep Academy, the brand's official school for off-road driving.
  • Showcase of 3 unique concept cars by Mopar: Wrangler Unlimited "Night Rock", Wrangler Rubicon "Dark Side" and Renegade "Hard Steel".
  • Still time to visit and sign on to the dedicated website Camp Jeep.

In just a few  days, the beautiful Vallée Bleue, near Lyon (France) will stage a unique event: the second edition of Camp Jeep, the international gathering open to all owners and fans of the legendary seven slot grille brand. Organised by the Jeep Owners Group (JOG) - the only official club run by the Jeep, and already established in 17 countries in the EMEA region - this reunion is a celebration of the deep sense of belonging and identity that surrounds Jeep brand fans, and also offers opportunities to verify the amazing off-road performance of every 4x4 Jeep.

Camp Jeep, in other words, promises to be a great meeting that is sure to surpass the numbers of the first edition, held in the Riserva Oppici hunting estate near Parma. Many people who took part in the first Camp Jeep have decided to meet up in Turin on the morning of 10 July, and then drive together to the Vallée Bleue, forming a colourful parade of Jeep models united by the thirst for freedom and adventure.

The cost of participating in the three days of Camp Jeep 2015 is 95 euros for each Jeep vehicle registered (135 euros for non-JOG members), while the one day pass costs 50 euros (65 euros for non-JOG members). To sign up for the event, just visit the dedicated website Camp Jeep. Either standard models or 'customised' vehicles are accepted, and the inscription will offer the owner and those accompanying them the right to access all Camp Jeep activities and drive on the four routes of varying difficulty levels, marked by green, blue, red and black course markers. Just as happens on skiing pistes, the red and black levels are reserved for expert drivers and teams on board Jeep models with the technical features necessary for tackling the most challenging tricks and obstacles.

Camp Jeep is therefore an off-road adventure in pure "Jeep Jamboree" style, like the classic American get-together conceived to highlight the emotional side of being part of the big Jeep family, a two-day event featuring test-driving and the pure, authentic adventure that only Jeep can offer. About 30 of these events are held every year: from California to Maine, from Arizona to Tennessee. In all its variants, the Jeep Jamboree still proposes the same winning formula as the first meeting held in 1953 on the legendary Rubicon Trail, in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada.

Respecting the authentic Jeep spirit, entry to the site is open and free to those who may not own a Jeep but share the values and spirit of the American brand. This year the claim of the Camp is "In Adventure We Trust!", a motto which proudly expresses one of the two souls of the Jeep brand: its more adventurous face, backed up by technology refined over 74 years of experience on the toughest terrains. The other face of the Jeep personality is more sophisticated, the source of Jeep's premiumness, with top-end interiors and bold exteriors which stand out even in the most exclusive metropolitan venues. This is why the guests at Camp Jeep will have the chance of getting to know and getting to drive the entire range of Jeep models: the Grand Cherokee (the most awarded SUV ever), the Wrangler (the iconic Jeep embodying the claim "Go anywhere, Do anything"), the Renegade (the award-winning compact SUV with an off-road vocation) and the Cherokee, a model always faithful to Jeep tradition, now fitted with the innovative 200 HP 2.2 Multijet II turbodiesel engine.

The Camp Jeep site will feature village hospitality facilities which reflect the brand's style moods, a fully-fitted camp-site for sleeping, and various theme areas designed to offer an inspiring "brand experience", including the Wrangler Stage, which acts as the main entertainment area. But all kinds of activities will be laid on, to reinforce Jeep community identity, including exhibitions of vintage models, live shows, barbecues, children's activities and live music concerts. On top of this, thanks to the expert professional drivers of the Jeep Academy, participants will be able to try the thrills of off-road driving, including "trick" stunts set up in a training and technical area.

Three historic vehicles that the public will be able to admire at the French meeting deserve particular mention: a legendary CJ-2A and two CJ Levi's. The first is the civilian version of the historic Willys MB created in 1941 for the United States army and generally considered the first off-road vehicle in the automotive industry. Alternatively, the CJ Levi's is the first Renegade produced 40 years ago which is presented at Camp Jeep both in the original 1975 version and in the "Hot Rod" version, a showcar prepared by the Jeepers Club Milano as a tribute to the Seventies model.

But Jeep spirit is not only confined to off-road driving: participants can also, for example, drive watercraft or go canoeing on the river. Or spend an out-of-the-ordinary day with their family in an exceptional game park. This year Camp Jeep will be offering a series of sporting and fun activities at very reduced prices: after all, sport and play are typically part of the adventurous personalities of those who choose Jeep as their travelling companion.

Meanwhile, the store run by Mopar - FCA's brand for services, customer care, original spare parts and accessories - is certain to attract a lot of interest, with its accessories and exclusive clothing and merchandising products dedicated to Jeep models and JOG members. A further exciting demonstration of the deep bond between the two American brands is provided by the exhibition of three Jeep showcars featuring special liveries and exclusive Mopar accessories: Wrangler Unlimited "Night Rock", Wrangler Rubicon "Dark Side" and Renegade "Hard Steel". These are unique exemplars which reaffirm the natural vocation for personalisation of all Jeep models. What never changes is their amazing ability to adapt to every situation, from elegant and fashionable social contexts to the toughest dust tracks.

Videos and photos of Camp Jeep will be available on the Jeep Owners Group website, and also through the social channels Jeep-People and Jeep Italia:

Tomorrow the beautiful Vallée Bleue, near Lyon (France) will stage a very special event: the second edition of Camp Jeep, the international gathering open to all owners and fans of the legendary seven slot grill brand. Organised by the Jeep Owners Group (JOG) - the only official club run by the brand, already established in 17 countries in the EMEA region - this reunion is a celebration of the deep sense of belonging and identity that surrounds Jeep brand fans, and also offers opportunities to verify the amazing off-road performance of every 4x4 Jeep.

Camp Jeep will be home to a village reflecting the brand's style moods, a fully equipped campsite for overnight stays and various theme areas designed to create an inspiring brand experience, like the Wrangler Stage which is the main entertainment area.

Mopar®, FCA's reference brand for services, customer care, genuine spare parts and accessories, will also generate great interest. Two separate areas presenting Mopar news will be set up at Camp Jeep: the official store selling exclusive apparel and merchandising dedicated to Jeep models and JOG members and a specific area showcasing and selling the Mopar accessories made for Wrangler and Renegade. Jeep and Mopar experts will be present at both stands to provide useful advice and ideas on how to customise your Jeep.

In particular, Jeep Wrangler "Night Rock" is a prototype based on the 'Unlimited' version from which the doors and the roof were removed to demonstrate the model's remarkable versatility and possibly of making it entirely open. The special series is characterised by extreme technical preparation ready for the toughest terrain and an appealing off-road configuration packed with great details, which includes a 'Performance' bonnet with air vents, a mesh grille, a suspension lifting kit and oversized tyres. Black paint and supplementary headlights reassert the bold looks of the showcar created by Jeep and Mopar.

The second Mopar-personalised car will be the Wrangler "Dark Side", based on the Rubicon version and equipped with a 2.8 litre turbodiesel engine with a five-gear automatic gear system. This special version has off-road bumpers, tow hook and winch, a performance bonnet hood and a chrome exhaust system, along with special leather interiors.

By its side, the Jeep Renegade Trailhawk "Hard Steel", which combines a slick metropolitan look with a relish for extreme adventure: extra-big tyres, raised suspension, performance bonnet, and grill and side mirror housings in opaque black. The "technological" attitude of this showcar is expressed most clearly by its Brushed Steel bodywork, a glimmering metallic skin that echoes the world of vintage aviation and avant-garde boating. This silver contrasts superbly with the opaque black of various elements, including grill, roof- bars, mirror housings, 16" alloy rims, side strips, bonnet air vents, fenders and bumpers. Another feature of this particular showcar is the trailer hooked on behind it, echoing the bold technological charisma of the car.

The Jeep Camp in France will also feature the presence of MEC, the Mopar Express Care unit. This converted Fiat Ducato is a fully equipped mobile repairs workshop, complete with reception, diagnosis and operative areas and will provide assistance to the vehicles involved in the various activities at Camp Jeep.Among its many services, this offers an instant electronic check-up of your Jeep via tablet (wiADVISOR), thanks in part to a robust internet connection and a 32" flat screen which renders operations completely transparent, to the benefit of the customer.

The historic Lingotto was chosen for the world première, a symbolic location which, like the 500, has adapted over time and evolved while remaining true to its tradition.

Mopar® - the reference brand for services, Customer Care, original spare parts and accessories for FCA brands - is also taking part in the event. For the occasion it is presenting the merchandising collection dedicated to the New 500, as well as a vehicle customised with a black micro carbon pack composed by wrapped for side mirror covers, roof and dashboard. Mopar customisation is completed by chrome bonnet line, tire valves caps with Fiat logo, black carpet mats, bicolour alloy wheel kit in matt grey and matt black, ivory 500 logo and Italian flag.

More than 100 specific accessories

Over 100 accessories have been designed specifically for the New 500, all top-quality products which perfectly match the technical and style features of the new car for full, complete customisation. The catalogue includes 14", 15" and 16" alloy rims with different designs, colours and finishes; mirror domes either chrome-plated or painted in a variety of colours, distinctive side badges, chrome-plated moulding on the roof, rear spoiler and stickers for the sides and the roof. To increase the functionality of the new car, a tailgate rack is available with two systems for transporting winter sports equipment, like skis and snowboards.

The range includes three dedicated Sport packs - Black, Red and White - consisting of a coloured stripe along the belt of the car ending with a chequered pattern near the rear window, mirror domes in matching body colour and two specific key covers. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles sponsors the eleventh edition of Formula SAE Italy

Once again, this year Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will sponsor "Formula SAE Italy". Now reaching its eleventh edition, the event takes place from today until Monday 14 September. Organised by the Associazione Tecnica dell'Automobile, this will be the seventh time it is held in the "Riccardo Paletti Circuit" in Varano de' Melegari (Parma).

Formula SAE Italy this year will consist of 2 thousand university students from the main universities of 18 different countries, divided into 72 teams. During the four days of the event, the teams will present prototypes of electric or internal combustion racing cars designed and built by them, and these will race against each other on the racetrack and also be examined and judged by a jury of top motor racing experts.

The presence of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as sponsor of Formula SAE Italy confirms the Company's determination not just to maintain but also to strengthen the close ties it has with the academic world, a constant of FCA's strategy: establishing precocious and profitable contacts with tomorrow's talents. Through its own technicians and specialists, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is present in the event's organising commission, in its project evaluation commission, and through professional and logistical support supplied to the Italian teams. FCA will also be present at the site with a stand organised by its Human Resources division, where the young participants will find ample information about joining the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles team.

Finally, in the paddock of the "Riccardo Paletti Circuit", various vehicles fitting for a racing circuit will be displayed (including an Abarth 695 Biposto, an Alfa Romeo 4C Spider and two Maseratis, the MC Road and the MC 12), testifying to the Group's ongoing commitment to developing avant-garde technological solutions in the field of sports cars.

Three Yamaha Factory Racing Edition Abarth 695 Biposto have been handed over to the Yamaha FIM MotoGP 2015 Championship team. The ceremony took place at the Officine Abarth HQ in Turin. In a few days' time, the Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition special series will be revealed at the Frankfurt International Motor Show.

Last week, Abarth Head Operations Paolo Gagliardo handed over three customised "Yamaha Factory Racing Edition" Abarth 695 Biposto cars to Lin Jarvis, CEO of Yamaha Motor Racing at the Officine Abarth HQ in Mirafiori (Turin), in the presence of Alfredo Altavilla, EMEA COO and CEO of Abarth. The special series springs from the collaboration between Abarth and the official Yamaha Racing Team competing in the FIM MotoGP World Championship. This supply consolidates the partnership between Abarth and Yamaha which for two years running will see them together on allthe tracks of the MotoGP Championship. Specifically, the Scorpion logo brand is taking to the track as Official Sponsor and Official Car Supplier of the official Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team, which is one of the successful with a prize record of six world championship titles won since 2004. Likewise, Abarth proves to be the car brand that is most capable of conveying the real essence of race circuits, sharing the value of sportsmanship and a desire to excel technically.

Equipped with the powerful 190 HP 1.4 T-Jet engine, the three special "Yamaha Factory Racing Edition" Abarth 695 Biposto cars sport a special blue and white livery, to make reference to the colours of the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP Team, and secure exhilarating performance, such as acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds. The mirror caps of the three cars are painted different colours and match the colour of the brake callipers and the hub caps: silver for the car handed over to Lin Jarvis, yellow for Valentino Rossi's Abarth 695 Biposto and red for Jorge Lorenzo's.

"It is a pleasure and an honour to receive these three Abarth Yamaha Factory Racing cars", said Lin Jarvis. "The 695 Biposto is extremely fun to drive and combines outstanding performance with a racing derived chassis. I am certain that our drivers and team members will love to drive these extraordinary cars on the road and also on the race track at the first opportunity!"
"We are very proud that the Movistar Yahama MotoGP team found our Abarth cars so exciting," said Paolo Gagliardo.

The 695 Biposto proves to be the sponsorship's flagship product: it is the brand's modern icon which is the ideal combination of road cars and racing cars, entailing the "transfer" of the racing spirit to an everyday car. In addition to boasting the most powerful engine ever to have been installed on a street-legal Abarth, the 695 Biposto boasts a weight-to-power ratio of just 5.2 kg/HP (the best in its class), a widened track and a very compact body. In addition, it is the street-legal car in the world to be equipped with a dog clutch gearbox.

A further tribute to this partnership will be revealed during the Frankfurt International Motor Show: namely, the Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition, a special series for which both brands cooperated and which is tuned as a racing bike.

FCA supplies 9,113 Ram ProMaster vans to the US Postal Service

In Europe key player in the delivery sector, the FCA commercial vehicles conquest also the fleets in the U.S.A. with the American Ducato, badged RAM ProMaster, selected by the United States Postal Service. This agreement demonstrates the global vocation of the Ducato, which in Europe has notched up new sales records with its 2015 first half figures.

At the beginning of the week a new agreement between Ram and the United States Postal Service was announced, concerning the supply of 9,113 Ram ProMaster vans fitted with 280 HP 3.6 cm3 V6 petrol engines and configured to Postal Service specifications for parcel delivery. Ram ProMaster is the transatlantic version of the Fiat Ducato, designed in Italy and boasting the same versatility as the original in terms of satisfying all use requirements, even the complex demands of postal delivery services.

This commission underlines the Ducato's global vocation, with its success on the American market following on the heels of a record-breaking first half year in Europe, where its segment market share rose to 23.5%, a marked increase on the same period last year.

The Ram ProMaster was chosen above all for its reliability and efficiency. But also for its value, founded on a design based on the needs of customers and cargo area fitters, and on improved quality, durability and performance, with consequent reduction of maintenance and repair costs and higher residual value. Moreover, like the Ducato, it stands out for its low running costs: it has one of the best Total Cost of Ownership scores in the segment, i.e. the total operating cost between the van's purchase and sale.

Indeed, the entire Fiat Professional range is notching up one success after another in supplying vehicles for major fleets, in particular for the delivery sector. For example, the deal with Svenska Posten, the Swedish Postal Service, which by the end of the year will have 5,000 Fiat Fiorino 1.3 Multijet vans with Comfort-Matic automatic gearbox. Another 5,000 units will be consigned during the three-year period 2015-2017 to Telecom Italia, while in 2014 700 Fiat Ducatos were consigned to DHL in Italy and 1,300 to the Belgian Postal Service. These are just a few examples: in Europe, Fiat Professional can boast over eighty partners who are leaders in the world of deliveries and postal services, and much more. Outstanding among the many collaborations are those with the Italian, Austrian, Swiss and French Postal Services, with DHL/Deutsche Post, with ENI, and with Coca Cola Iberia.

The Abarth brand took to the track alongside the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team, who have just won the Team World Championship title, at today's race in the MotoGP World Championship. The exciting challenge between Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo for the world title continues.

The fifteenth round of the FIM MotoGP World Championship headed to Motegi for the Motul Grand Prix of Japan. At the start, Valentino Rossi, who leads in the standings, followed by Jorge Lorenzo. Both contenders for the title wear the colours of Movistar Yamaha MotoGP, who have established themselves in the Team world standings, with four races ahead of the end of the championship.

There are still two prestigious titles up for grabs-Manufacturers and Riders-that Yamaha is running for, especially in light of today's results: a double podium finish for the Yamaha riders, with Valentino Rossi in second place and Jorge Lorenzo in third place.

Today in the standings, Rossi has 283 points, and Lorenzo 265.

With three rounds remaining, then, the race is still open and the Abarth brand is ready to hit the track alongside the Movistar team on the Philip Island, Sepang and Valencia circuits. Indeed, the Scorpion logo will stand out on the fairing of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo's YZR-M1 bikes: it is the seal of a two-year partnership founded on shared values, such as sportsmanship, the desire to excel and continuous technical development.

The most important Italian show of vintage cars is held in Padua from 22 to 25 October. Considering also the very high number of sales made during the event, the Padua show has always been a point of reference for enthusiasts and collectors.

The 32nd edition of "Auto e Moto d'epoca 2015" will soon open its doors, where the Alfa Romeo and Abarth brands will take part with some precious vintage models as well as the latest items from their present production: this is the best way of strongly confirming the unique character of these legendary brands, a heritage made up of cars and designers, races and engines, that marked the technological progress and sports events of the twentieth century.

Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo's participation in the Padua show focuses on the new Giulia Quadrifoglio, summary of the new Alfa Romeo paradigm and supreme expression of the "meccanica delle emozioni" (mechanics of emotion). Alongside it will be some of its illustrious forebears from the collection of the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, recently reopened to the public: Giulia TI Super, Giulia SS, TZ2 and Giulia Sprint GTA, telling of the historic connection between the Giulia model and performance, as well as the exclusive Montreal Expo, in honour of the prestigious participation of FCA as Official Global Partner of Expo 2015 in Milan, the home town of Alfa Romeo.

The Giulia "TI Super" deserves a special mention: only 501 examples of this road car were built to obtain homologation for racing, and it may be considered the ideal ancestor of the present-day Giulia Quadrifoglio, with the four-leaf clover marking on the side. Both models represent the best interpretation of the "sports sedan", invented by Alfa Romeo in the Fifties with the 1900, then continued with the Giulietta and the whole series of high-performance sedans that make up the brand's historic and technical heritage. The Giulia TI Super can boast prestigious technical specifications: 1570 cc, 113 HP, 190 km/h, weight 960 kg. In the forefront in 1963, excellent on the track - where it raced in the "Tourism" class - and even better on the road: its success in the Tour de France Auto in 1964 was unforgettable.

The "GTA" and the TZ2 represent the purely racing soul of the cars in the Giulia family (series 105): the former derived from the standard coupé, the latter extreme and performance-oriented, both are "racing" interpretations of the Giulia theme. The GTA is the queen of GT racing, it has won all over the world and was the first tourism car to complete a lap of the Nürburgring (Nordschleife) in less than 10 minutes. The "Sprint GTA", with its twin-spark engine, prepared by Autodelta, has more than 170 HP (more than 100 HP/litre), while the TZ2 - of which only nine examples were built, defined by specialists in the field and others as one of the most beautiful racing cars ever made - has a 1.6 twin-shaft engine that drives it to 250 km/h, thanks also to a weight of 650 kg and highly effective aerodynamics.

Instead the Giulia SS is the evolution "in the Giulia key" of its predecessor, the Giulietta Sprint Speciale, a masterpiece by Bertone with coachwork by Franco Scaglione, presenting a sinuous and very personal line. Thanks to the effective combination of the "sixteen hundred" engine with the aerodynamics of the bodywork, the "SS" could reach 200 km/h.

The exhibition is completed by the most exclusive car on the Alfa Romeo stand: the Montreal Expo, a fascinating design prototype by Bertone. It was created in 1967 to mark the International Exposition in Montreal - hence its name - when the organisation entrusted Bertone with the task of designing a car that would represent "the highest aspiration that can be reached by man in cars". This concept car - in fact there are two identical models - was built with the chassis and engine of the Giulia, while the production version (1970) was equipped with a "V8" engine.

Alongside these rare historical models at "Auto e Moto d'epoca 2015" there will also be the fascinating Giulia Quadrifoglio with its powerful V6 2.9 litre 510 HP turbo-charged petrol engine, inspired by Ferrari technology and technical skills, which has become the new point of reference for the brand. With this equipment the Giulia Quadrifoglio ensures exciting performances: a top speed of 307 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and a maximum torque of 600 Nm. Excellent performance, always with maximum respect of the environment: the Giulia has proven to be the best in class also where emissions are concerned, with 198 gr/km of CO2.

The bond between past, present and future is represented by the cars of the superbly renovated Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, known as "The Time Machine". This recently reopened its doors to the public, and on 24 June - the day of the Brand's 105th birthday - it had the honour of staging a thrilling world preview: the début of the new Alfa Romeo Giulia. The museum displays 69 models, chosen as those which most marked not only the evolution of Alfa Romeo but also the history of the motor car. These include the first A.L.F.A. model (the 24 HP), legendary winners of the Mille Miglia races such as the 6C 1750 Gran Sport driven by Tazio Nuvolari, the heavyweight 8C Touring, the Gran Premio 159 "Alfetta 159" (Formula 1 World Champion with Juan Manuel Fangio) the Giulietta, icon of the 1950s, and the glorious 33 TT 12. Info and opening hours at www.museoalfaromeo.com.

Abarth

In Padua, visitors can admire two historic models - Abarth 750 Record Bertone and Abarth Monoposto Record - as well as the brand-new Abarth 695 Biposto, the ideal combination of road and racing vehicles. It is a tangible example of the Scorpion philosophy: transferring the experience of the racing world to the road car market, offering everyone the possibility to enjoy an exciting driving experience every day.

These two historic cars have enabled the brand to achieve numerous speed records. In particular, in 1960 the Fiat Abarth 750 Bertone, driven by Umberto Maglioli, took four new international speed records between 212 and 214 km per hour. The second car on display also represents one of the finest pages in Abarth history: on 20 October 1965, the founder Karl Abarth drove an Abarth Monoposto Record, Class G, on the track at Monza, winning the acceleration record on 400 metres and 500 metres. An anecdote tells a lot about this man's tenacity because, to get into the tight driver's seat, he had to lose 30 kilos in just a few months.

In Padua the Scorpio logo will also show the Abarth 695 Biposto which guarantees excellent performance, weighing in at only 997 kg. The 1.4 T-jet engine has been enhanced to 190 HP, used for the first time in a road vehicle. It is the vehicle with the best weight/power ratio (5.2 kg/HP) and the best acceleration (from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9'') in its category, with a maximum speed of 230 Km/h. The highest power is generated at 5,500 revs/min and the torque is 250 Nm at 3,000 revs/min. The power specification is a record in its class at 139 HP/litre. Finally, for the first time in a "street legal" vehicle, we see dog engaged transmission with disc commands and self-locking and racing transmission that makes gear changing so immediate that expert drivers will not need to engage the clutch when changing up.

Expectation for the name of Fiat's new Compact Sedan was high and the wait is now over. A name steeped in history for the new three-box sedan which was revealed in May at the Istanbul Motor Show as the first chapter of the 'Fiat Ægea' Project. Sales of the car will start in Italy in December and be gradually extended to the other EMEA region countries.

TIPO: this will be the name sported on the livery of the new Compact Sedan in all EMEA region countries except for Turkey, where the project name turned out to be so successful that it was decided to keep it for the car as well. The symbolic name has been used by Fiat since its earliest days and is now making a comeback on a global model designed to tackle the challenges of the future.

The Fiat TIPO is an all-new, four-door car created from the beginning as a three-box sedan embodying the "Born to be Sedan" concept and is enhanced by the balanced shapes characteristic of Italian design to guarantee personality and style without forgoing functionality.

The result is a functional car which maximises value for money - this being a crucial concept in the Fiat functional family - and is packed with what customers genuinely appreciate, with a simple range and a transparent commercial offer. It is equipped with reliable, high performing and economical power units: two Multijet II turbo diesel engines and two petrol ones, with manual or automatic transmission and power ratings from 95 to 120 HP.

A global model for a global brand: the Fiat TIPO is designed in Italy by the FCA Style Centre, developed in Turkey with Tofaş R&D, made in the Tofaş plant in Bursa - one of the world's best automotive factories which has received a World Class Manufacturing Gold Medal - and sold in over 40 countries in the EMEA area. Hence the project name 'Ægea' to pay homage to a country which has always been strategic for FCA, as demonstrated by the joint venture created in 1968 between what was then the Fiat Group and Koç Holding.

According to the agreement, announced prior to the Italy-Norway match, Fiat will be the Top Sponsor and Official Car for men's and women's national football team, and iconic young players. A fleet of Fiat cars will be available to the Azzurri, accompanying them to official, unofficial and training matches.

FCA and the Italian Federation of Football (FIGC) have renewed their sponsorship agreement for another four years: so Fiat will be the Top Sponsor and Official Car for the Azzurri, continuing their adventure on football pitches. The agreement involves supplying a fleet of Fiat cars to accompany the Italian team to their official, unofficial and training matches. In addition, the brand will appear on the Azzurri training uniforms and on publicity banners around the pitch. Further initiatives will involve the teams and the technical head coach Antonio Conte.

The occasion for the announcement is the qualification match for the 2016 European Championship, held in France. The Italy - Norway match will be played tonight in the wonderful Rome Olympic stadium. This will be the third continental match held in France that Fiat and the Azzurri will play together, after Austria and Switzerland (2008) and Poland and Ukraine (2012). The strong tie with the Italian football team goes back to 2000, when as Technical Partner, the brand started following the Azzurri when they played the world championship in Japan and Korea (2002), in South Africa (2010) and in Brazil (2014). Thanks to this agreement, even when the Azzurri go to the world championships in Russia in 2018, they will have the Fiat "license plate".

This association is based on the shared values that drive Fiat and FIGC to conquer ever more goals and successes in their respective sectors. FCA'a commitment underscores the strategy of tying their name to excellence and international fame, and football's national team is always a symbol of sports and human values, bringing millions of fans and showing a positive image of Italy to the world. The connection is thus the crowning touch to a route started more than a century ago and has always seen Fiat and Italy hand in hand in our country's social, industrial and cultural evolution.

FAC, official sponsor of Expo 2015 and partner for sustainable mobility, and Autogrill present the most innovative projects in the field of the recovery and transformation of organic waste into alternative raw materials

FCA, together with Autogrill, is the protagonist at the meeting on the theme "Food waste as a raw material for the future: a journey from catering to the automotive sector", presented at the Slow Food Theatre on Friday 16 October from 12.45 onward. An important moment for reflecting on sustainability connected to the theme of reusing food waste. Through a number of innovative projects, FCA and Autogrill show how waste can be a real source of wealth, as long as it is reused in a conscientious, alternative and sustainable way. Producing value from waste is one of the challenges that must be won if we are to achieve a cleaner world, as it is demonstrated by the best practices of the two Groups.

FCA highlights how the group's commitment to protecting the environment also includes the study and use of eco-compatible materials in its vehicles. A more aware viewpoint in the theme of the exploitation of raw materials, as well as recovery and recycling, can help reduce the ecological footprint of the vehicles in every stage of their life cycle. This is why, through the activities of the Global Materials Labs, the Group takes part in research projects for the exploitation of organic waste, including waste from the food industry, to use as filler for sustainable polymers.

With the development and application of new, ecological and sustainable materials for various car parts, including oils and paints, a contribution can be made to the continuous improvement of the product and its performance in terms of recycling and durability, thus reducing its impact on the environment.

For Autogrill too, sustainability is a competitive lever for company growth and development. This awareness led, in 2007, to the creation of a long-term strategy, "Afuture", to guide the Group's business. In this international experimental laboratory, best practices and projects were launched in all fields of activity - people, products and environment - with particular attention to the theme of managing refuse and waste produced in the Autogrill outlets during preparation and service. Some of the main projects: the experimental hub on the theme of food waste carried out in 2013 with WWF Italia, thanks to which the organic waste from a number of sales outlets was transformed into compost to "feed" a vegetable garden in the WWF Oasis as Bosco di Vanzago, and, in 2015, the agreement signed with the FAO for the reduction of waste in the food chain.

Representatives from the two companies will take part in the discussion, drawing the public's attention to the experiences and the results obtained in the last decades through a global and transversal approach to sustainability issues. Speakers for FCA will be Claudia Berruti, Head of Environmental & Chemical Analysis in the Global Materials Labs, Silvia Avataneo, from Environmental Issues & Innovation at the Global Materials Labs, Laura Viada, FCA Sustainability Manager, and Giuseppe Tecco, proprietor of Agrindustria.

For Autogrill there will be Silvio de Girolamo, Autogrill Group Chief Internal Audit & CSR Officer, with the participation of Michele Fino, Professor and Vice-Rector of the University of Gastronomic Sciences at Pollenzo. Lastly, Lisa Casali, environmental scientist and expert in eco-sustainable cuisine, with her latest book "Tutto fa brodo. Dagli scarti alle scorte: la mia rivoluzione in cucina" ("Everything goes in the soup. From waste to stock: my revolution in the kitchen").

To stay in touch with FCA and follow its commitment and activities in the field of sustainability you can download the FCA Sustainability App from Apple store or Google Play store and visit the website http://www.fcagroup.com/en-us/sustainability/pages/default.aspx

Also taking a starring role on the Alfa Romeo stand is the captivating 4C Coupé show car, the result of the partnership between the Alfa Romeo brand and Milan-based Garage Italia Customs, the company founded and owned by Lapo Elkann.

The Mopar brand is displaying a wide range of personalized vehicles at the 2015 Dubai International Motor Show, including the Chrysler 200, Dodge Charger R/T, Dodge Challenger Hellcat, Fiat 500X, Fiat Professional Fullback 1-ton pickup and Ram Rebel, alongside a trio of special Jeep® vehicles "moparized" with a selection of parts and accessories. During the motor show, selections from the wide range of merchandise and clothing will be available for purchase in the official Mopar Store on the stand.

Detailed descriptions of each brand complete with images and texts are available from the Press website in the specific brand sections.

  • Another important step in the history of Fiat 500
  • The model with chassis number 1,500,000 is destined for the French market
  • The iconic Fiat is marketed in over 100 countries around the world

Today, the Fiat 500 with chassis number 1,500,000 came out of the FCA Poland Plant production line. It is a Pop model in Gelato White, with a 1.2 litre 69 HP petrol engine, destined to a client in France.

Sold in over 100 countries around the world - from Poland to Italy, from Brazil to South Africa, from Japan to USA - the Fiat 500 has reached this historic milestone 8 years and 4 months after its launch.

A global car, whose sales outside of Italy constitute 75%, the Fiat 500 is an all-Italian invention that won over the public and international critics, as shown by over 40 world championship prizes won so far, including the prestigious "Car of The Year 2008". In addition, this impressive achievement is joined by numerous records marked by Fiat 500 in its segment: the first city car to offer 7 standard airbags, the first to make the latest ESP available on the entire range, the first FCA car to début with the TwinAir two-cylinder engine family.

Last July, the baton was picked up by the New 500, with which Fiat is preparing to face future market challenges while remaining true to its own deep roots. Created by the Centro Stile Fiat, the car has a refreshed exterior and interior design, which is unmistakably 500 and even more attractive. While it has not grown in size, it is packed with more technology, engine versions and customisation ideas: only in this way, can the iconic car further evolve and refine the features that have turned it into a masterpiece.

The secrets of its worldwide success certainly include Fiat's ability to evolve with new interpretations - from the 500 Abarth (2008) to the New 500 (July 2015) - but also its ability to explore new territories, creating an innovative and accessible family of cars that guarantee maximum freedom of choice and use: the results include the 500L (2012), the 500L Trekking and 500L Living (2013), and the 500X (2014).

  • The Show Camper Van, an exercise in style not for sale, is based on the best-selling Fiat Ducato, recent winner of the "Best Motorhome Base Vehicle 2016" award.
  • The star of the German event is designed to appeal to adventurous customers who enjoy travelling off the beaten track also in the snow.
  • 4x4 Expedition fits permanent four-wheel drive with viscous coupling developed by Dangel.
  • Fiat Professional is reaching out to new customer types to expand a sector which today amounts to over 25% of the motorhome market in Europe.
  • The dedicated website www.fiatcamper.com is packed with services, inspiring pictures, exciting videos and a specific questionnaire for Fiat Ducato base motorhome enthusiasts.

The Fiat Ducato 4x4 Expedition Show Camper Van will be the star of the Stuttgart CMT, Europe's largest exhibition open to the public dedicated to caravanning, motoring and tourism which last year attracted over 240,000 visitors and more than 2000 exhibitors. Strong of its position as European leader in motorhome bases for the recreational vehicle conversion sector, Fiat Professional will be taking part in the prestigious event which will be taking place from January 16 to 24. The stand is FOY28 near the East entrance.

New roads even under the snow

"Opening new roads" is the claim accompanying the original Show Camper Van which perfectly sums up its adventurous spirit. Based on the Fiat Ducato best-seller, which has recently won the prestigious "Best Motorhome Base Vehicle 2016" award, Fiat Ducato 4x4 Expedition adopts a long wheelbase configuration with extra overhang, raised roof and powerful 2.3 MultiJet II 150 HP engine. It is targeted to adventurous travellers who are seeking a vehicle which is high-performing and agile on the road with a large, comfortable living space at the same time.

Partners of excellence were involved in its design: Tecnoform for the interiors, Olmedo for the exteriors and Dangel for the drive system. The latter is the strength of the model: permanent all-wheel drive system with viscous coupling combined with a special raised ride and oversized tyres. These solutions allow Ducato 4x4 Expedition to confidently tackle even snow and satisfy users who enjoy a sporty lifestyle in winter too.

Comfort and technology also off-road

Its off-road vocation does not put comfort inside at risk and the interiors are designed by leading motorhome, yacht and luxury furniture manufacturer Tecnoform. Technological contents share the same level of excellence: tablet holder with USB port, UconnectTM NAV touchscreen radio with navigation system and rear parking camera.

Furthermore, the Show Camper Van is characterised by a two-colour paint job in two shades of grey, front skid plate and LED headlights with DRL function. The outfit is completed by a front winch and raised roof, which is fully equipped for holidays off the beaten track and can be walked on in part, meaning it can be used as a handy outdoor space at over two and a half metres from the ground. Clever technical solutions enhance its versatility and reassert its bold character.

A successful base for an innovative creation

With this vehicle, Fiat Professional is consolidating its expertise and is planning on opening new prospects in the "Camper Van" segment, which today amounts for 25% of Europe's motorhome market.

For many years, the features of Ducato Van have proven to be winning for motorhome owners: square, box-shaped cargo compartment, excellent steering circle for easy manoeuvring and a compact front and cab.

One of the strengths of the model is precisely its peerless comfort: safe and enjoyable driving, comfortable "Captain Chair" style seats with integrated head restraints, adjustable steering wheel and hydraulic power steering. Last but not least, it is packed with active and passive safety devices to travel with confidence. Not by chance, Fiat Ducato is sector leader, chassis of choice for all European motorhome manufacturers and was picked by over 500,000 families over the past ten years.

The journey continues on the web

Strong of this tradition, the Show Camper Van is reaching out to new customers and exploring new roads by suggesting a more extreme, versatile use. The Fiat Ducato motorhome can go anywhere and wants to learn how to serve holidaymakers even better. Considering the importance of this new, growing customer segment, in addition to the daily feedback collected from everyday contacts with motorhome owners and manufacturers, Fiat Professional is analysing the market to anticipate new trends and keep ahead of competition. For instance, visitors to the Fiat Professional stand will invited to fill in a questionnaire to pinpoint their expectations in terms of products and services for the Camper Van segment. Everyone can answer the same questions by going to the https://www.fiatcamper.com website.

The website is dedicated to all open-air travel enthusiasts. It is packed with information on Fiat Ducato Camper and exclusive services, news, tips and continuous updates. Everything is created specifically for motorhome fans. It is a useful tool for planning holidays with its destination ideas and it is handy on the road with the "Chassis Check" function to monitor the latest technical setup operations and to locate one of the 6,500 Fiat Professional workshops, of which 1,800 are also Fiat Camper service centres, along your route. Furthermore, users can sign up for "My Ducato" for more functions and exclusive services for motorhome owners.

Fiat 500 Riva: the new icon born of the special first-time union between two timeless Italian legends :

Two absolute icons, in motoring and in boating, encounter one another to create a new object of desire and symbol of Italian beauty.
And so, for its birthday on 4 July, the Fiat icon can show off a new excusive made-to-measure look, designed with the elegance and expertise employed to create the world's most beautiful powerboats.
An inimitable style made up of precious essences and of passion for chromatic detailing, to turn every journey into an exclusive cruise.

The birth of the Fiat 500 in 1957 contributed strongly to the motorisation of a nation in rapid evolution, quickly becoming a cult model with sales of almost 4 million cars. This was the so-called Dolce Vita era, during which Italy rebuilt itself with dynamic vigour and enthusiasm. The mythical 500 went beyond meeting the growing need to make mobility accessible, it also expressed an entire generation's deep-seated will to life. The same expression of vitality was projected in the same period by Aquarama, a Riva speedboat synonymous with elegance and perfection. An authentic status symbol, featuring highest quality materials, meticulously executed detailing and maximum craft expertise.

Allure and elegance are also features that typify the New 500 launched in 2007. Its massive success has turned it into an icon which with masterful coherence reconciles a series of contrasting opposites: a car which is both exclusive and accessible, a global best-seller with a profoundly Italian heart, a product of elegance that never forgets to offer enjoyment. Despite having sold 1,800,000 units, it remains utterly personal, having inspired numerous successful special series while maintaining its unique identity intact.

Since 2015, it has renovated its iconic image both outside and inside, as it continues to offer richer content in terms of technology, engines and personalisation options: the icon has evolved further, refining the features which have made it a masterpiece.

Today, Fiat and Riva have conceived a new limited edition special series: the 500 Riva, with unique stylistic choices and exquisite detailing. The "Evening Blue" colour of body and hood - created exclusively for the 500 Riva - is identical to that of Aquariva Super, the contemporary powerboat icon and heir to the mythical Aquarama. The central part of the dashboard, fashioned from the most exclusive mahogany inset with maple, provides an unmistakable flourish of Riva elegance, offering occupants the warm wood colours of life on-board.

Various luxurious chrome details also exalt the "seafaring" spirit of 500 Riva, while aquamarine, the symbolic colour of the legendary nautical brand, is present in the beauty line of every boat-like car, unequivocally personalising this new limited-edition special series.

The strength of the 500 plus Riva style have made it possible to create a car renewed in quality, technology and design, while remaining faithful to the values of the two legends which together have conjured up a timeless charm.

500 Riva thus becomes a sort of 'smallest boat' offering elegance and style, performance and comfort, turning every journey into an exclusive roadway cruise.

FCA and CNH Industrial host first international TechPro2 event:

The first ever international event held in honor of the TechPro2 youth technical training initiative took place today at the headquarters of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Turin, Italy. The event illustrated the activities achieved thus far by TechPro2 and rewarded some of the most deserving students who have participated in the training program from different countries around the world.

The TechPro2 program is a joint initiative from sister companies Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and CNH Industrial, in collaboration with the National Centre for Salesian Works (CNOS FAP). CNOS FAP's mission is to promote formation and professional development according to its founder Don Bosco's teaching principles. The aim of TechPro2 is to provide young people from over 50 countries around the world - such as Poland, Ethiopia, Argentina, Italy, India and Brazil - with the knowledge and commercial skills that are needed to prepare them for future employment in the automotive and industrial machinery sectors.

Mopar, the services, Customer Care, original spare parts and accessories brand of FCA, led this project back in 2008 together with CNOS-FAP. CNH Industrial later joined the initiative in 2011, introducing a specific training program related to commercial vehicles.

TechPro2 has grown to be more than a development program to form highly specialised individuals; today it has a global scope which actively involves and fosters a direct dialogue with young people, many of which come from socially underprivileged backgrounds, to offer them a secure professional future. Furthermore, TechPro2 represents an innovative relationship model between schools (specifically Salesian institutes) and the professional sector, represented by FCA and CNH Industrial, together with their commercial and service networks.

With TechPro2, the objectives of both FCA and CNH Industrial, two multinational companies, blend seamlessly with those endorsed by CNOS-FAP whose priority is to educate and develop the next generation. A true partnership in all respects: TechPro2 brings together the best of both worlds in terms of technological capabilities, skills and values for every phase of the program from the selection and involvement of students to the "Train the Trainer" knowledge transfer phase for local course instructors; and finally in the training itself with classrooms and workshops fitted out with the necessary tools and the latest diagnostic systems for young students  to practice working on vehicles, engines and transmissions.

At present, TechPro2 operates 58 training programs in 11 countries, across four continents. Each course caters to diverse social context, both cultural and socio-economic. All of them are united in their mission to grant young people access to serious and structured growth that will give them the means to secure their own futures.

The numerous success stories include Ethiopia where the CNH Industrial commercial vehicles course has paved the way for the employment of all graduating participants. The same is the case in India where FCA operates automobile maintenance courses for aspiring mechanics.

Since it began eight years ago, TechPro2 has trained nearly 13,000 people over 380,000 hours of lessons, which have led to more than 5,000 internships and placements throughout FCA and CNH Industrial's commercial assistance networks. The program continues to pursue new objectives including the addition of new schools, which have recently been opened in Italy and France.  CNH Industrial has recently launched a new edition dedicated to the agricultural machinery sector, which will soon be followed with a further course specializing in FPT Industrial engines. FCA has expanded its course offering for 2016 to include a pilot course in collaboration with its Abarth brand to provide training for the role of Racing Team Technician and a new logistics course which is planned for September.

At the event held today in Turin, seven young international students were in attendance and at one point were invited up on stage to receive a symbolic certificate at the event. These students were:

Simone Cassino, a 17-year-old Italian trainee who has previously  won the 2015 TechPro2 Award and the 2015 Trades WorldSkills Championships in Piedmont (with 548 points in the Mechanics section). He will go on to compete at WorldSkills EuroSkills Italy in Bolzano, Italy and at the European Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden, both later this year;

Teshale Belay, an 18-year-old from Ethiopia, whose life was literally changed for the better thanks to TechPro2. Prior to the course Teshale was living on the streets, after receiving his diploma from the Bosco Children Automotive Department, he soon found a job at a local workshop. In addition to working full-time, he is attending night school to further reap the fruits of his efforts;

Olivia Masedi, a 25-year-old South African and one of the first female students to take the commercial vehicles course, whose dream is to open her own workshop one day;

Gioele Bombieri, named as the best student of the Verona chapter and winner of the 2016 TechPro2 Awards where he came first in a technical test that required the detection of a fault starting from the recording of customer reports, to skills implementation and the use of official FCA instruments;

Keith Marian D'Souza, awarded as the best student of the six schools involved in TechProin India, where the courses are shorter but more intense and conclude with an internship at one of FCA or one of its approved suppliers' sites. These internships typically result in the permanent employment (on average over 94% of cases) if the trainees do not continue on in their studies;

Tomasz Piszczkiewicz, voted best student in Poland, where the course is a part of regular high school studies; Agustín Salazar Santiago Iñiguez from Argentina who was named as the best student out of the six schools in his home nation. He is now completing the seventh and final year of his course, where 90% of the graduates have gone on to qualify as automotive technicians.

While CNOS-FAP is not present and does not operate in China, it does provide curriculum and teaching models and also fosters relationships with Chinese businesses through the technical training company Edulife Yizhong, a specialist in teaching methodology, cultural mediation and innovation of teaching and learning processes. Bishoi Said, a 24-year-old, who was trained in commercial vehicles at schools in Cairo, Egypt and Verona, Italy has been instrumental in initiating CNH Industrial's Iveco TechPro2 program in China, which is run by Yizhong Edulife.

A success in every sense, TechPro2 has accomplished a winning relationship model between educational institutions and businesses, synergies which must exist between the realms of education and industry. FCA, CNH Industrial and the Salesian Schools, three important partners and leaders in their respective fields, are literally creating specialists who are not "only workshop technicians" but mature professionals who will go on to work with customers, repair vehicles and return them back restored. It is therefore essential to not only acquire technical skills, but also gain essential listening and problem solving skills in order to be clear and transparent in explaining estimates and the necessary interventions for maintenance and create a relationship with the customer. It is the mix of excellent technical support and a strong value system that allows students to achieve a high level of distinction both personally and professionally, something that is essential for the technicians of the future.

  • EMEA range
  • FCA Bank for the new 124 Spider

Model overview

The new Fiat 124 Spider revives the storied nameplate, bringing its classic styling and typically Italian performance to a new generation. Paying homage to the original 124 Spider that was launched 50 years ago, the new 124 Spider delivers an authentic Italian roadster experience packed with driving excitement, technology and safety, combined with an inimitable Italian design. The new 124 Spider can now be ordered from showrooms of the major European markets. For specific details and prices, visit the local press sites.

The designers at the Fiat Style Centre have created a car that encompasses in a new perspective the classic beauty of its predecessor without betraying its very essence. The front-end is bold without being aggressive and the two small domes on the bonnet give an indication of the engine's power. The side boasts the proportions of a true sports car, suggesting its longitudinal engine and rear-wheel drive mechanical architecture and its retracted passenger compartment.

An exciting drive thanks to skilled design work
In the EMEA region, the Fiat 124 Spider is equipped with the reliable 1.4-litre turbo four-cylinder engine with MultiAir technology, which delivers 140 HP power and 240 Nm of torque, and is available with a six-speed manual transmission. The performance is outstanding, including a top speed of 215 km/h with acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
The 124 Spider's suspension uses a double-wishbone layout in front and a multilink in the rear, specifically tuned for greater stability while braking and turning. Steering is light and responsive with the use of an electric power assist system.
The steering and suspension setup, lightweight frame, balanced weight distribution and turbocharged engine combine for a dynamic driving experience. Noise vibration and harshness (NVH) enhancements, including an acoustic front windscreen and insulation treatments, also help to deliver a refined, quiet ride.
For an open-air driving experience, the Fiat 124 Spider's soft convertible top is easy to operate and requires minimal force.

Packed with high-technology safety devices

The new roadster features active and passive safety systems, including adaptive headlights, rear video camera, and the stability control system, plus a body that gives high rigidity and low weight thanks to the extensive use of high-tensile materials.

What's more, the Fiat 124 Spider offers a range of high-technology devices that further improve the comfort and on-board well-being, such as the 7" touchscreen display with digital radio, Multimedia Control, Bluetooth connectivity, heated seats and Keyless Entry system.

To get incomparable audio quality even with the top down, there is the Bose premium Hi-Fi system with 9 speakers, four of which are incorporated into the headrests.

Design pays homage to the past, reinterpreting stylish finishes with a modern twist
Designed in the Turin Style Centre, the new Fiat 124 Spider retains several trims and features of the original 1966 car – unanimously considered to be one of the coolest looking Fiats of all time – and revisits them in a contemporary key. The Fiat 124 Spider has a slender, timeless silhouette, an attractive, classic and perfectly proportioned side panel, a low centre of gravity, a retracted passenger compartment and a long bonnet like a true sports car. References to the historic model are also made in the upper grille and in the pattern of the hexagonal front grille, in the classic "humps" along the front bonnet and the bold horizontal rear lights. The interiors are designed and made to ensure maximum comfort for all occupants, starting with the use of top-quality, soft materials. The ergonomic design of the car was painstakingly designed to enhance the driving experience, also through the perfect layout of pedals, steering wheel and transmission. The Fiat 124 Spider is available in two trim levels - 124 Spider and Lusso - each one available with eight different body colours: two pastel shades (Passione Red and Gelato White), five metallic shades (Vesuvio Black, Argento Grey, Moda Grey, Magnetico Bronze and Italia Blue) and the three-coat Ghiaccio White.

Design

Designed at the Centro Stile of Turin, the new Fiat 124 Spider is a modern reinterpretation of a true legend, in addition to one of the most popular Fiats of all time: the original Spider from the 1960s. The iconic style of the 124 Spider, in fact, evokes some of the finishes of its forerunner, adapting them to the modern taste of the twenty-first Century. This is the story behind a model that has joined the Fiat range of contemporary cars that are linked closely to the tradition of the brand.

Exterior
With its slender, timeless silhouette, the Fiat 124 Spider features an attractive, classic and perfectly proportioned side panel, a low centre of gravity, a retracted passenger compartment and a long bonnet like a true sports car. A horizontal line rises from the front, stretches back and joins with the rear line near the rear light cluster: this is an unmistakable reference to the classic 124 Spider.

In the same way, the upper hexagonal grille was inspired by the exclusive form of the front air intakes on the historical model and recalls the honeycomb structure of the sporty grille on the legendary 124 Spider.

The original headlights together with the front hexagonal grille contribute to reasserting the car's bold personality. The lower grille is charming and just touched by the lid-shaped headlight surrounds. The front direction indicators and fog light covers add a dynamic touch and together make the front of the car truly unmistakable.

The “humps” on the bonnet emphasise the position of the engine and the power delivered: it is a reference to the second-generation 124 Spider, a vehicle which featured this type of structure. The exclusive LED headlights and rear lights add expressiveness to the car, both during the day and at night.

The rear end of the Fiat 124 Spider is characterised by two elements: the swallow-tail section rear wings and the horizontal rear lights which pick up particular features of the car's predecessor. The shape of the rear bumpers, with the upper surface jutting into the rear door, conveys a characteristic V-shape to the back of the car.

One significant detail lies in the rear lights, which form a ring-shaped luminous surface thanks to the body-coloured inserts. There are eight liveries to choose from: two pastel shades, Passione Red and Gelato White; five metallic shades, Vesuvio Black, Argento Grey, Moda Grey, Magnetico Bronze and Italia Blue; and the three-coat Ghiaccio White.

Further details which accommodate both technical and styling requirements include the built-in rear spoiler, which improves the aerodynamic load, and the double exhaust pipe, which emphasises the engine's performance capacity. Last but by no means least, the rear number plate is fitted in the middle of the rear lights, in pure original 124 Spider style.

Interior
All the interior has been set up with top-quality materials: leather for the seats, steering wheel and gear stick boot. Soft-touch materials for the upper dashboard and chrome-plated finishes make this new Fiat a prime example of Italian manufacturing excellence. The interiors of the 124 Spider are designed and built to ensure maximum on-board comfort. Moreover, the ergonomic design of the car was painstakingly designed and fine-tuned to ensure the perfect layout of pedals, steering wheel and transmission.

The exclusive design of the dashboard, with a glossy black or silver insert depending on the trim level, further enhances the soft-touch materials. The steering wheel was ergonomically designed to improve vehicle manoeuvrability, and is wrapped with high-quality leather. Also the light mesh structure seats and exclusive shape of the trim and foam parts were designed to guarantee the highest level of comfort. The door panels are made with high-quality, soft-touch materials and the chromed handle has a satin finish.

The instrument panel in front of the driver's seat has three indicators, including the centrally positioned rev counter, designed for sporty driving.

Engine, transmission and suspension

In the EMEA region, the Fiat 124 Spider is equipped with the reliable 1.4-litre turbo four-cylinder engine with MultiAir technology, which delivers 140 HP power (103 kW) and 240 Nm of torque. The engine has retained its distinguishing features: four cylinders in-line with an aluminium head, a 72 mm bore and an 84 mm stroke, for a total displacement of 1,368 cm3. The Fiat 124 Spider reaches a top speed of 215 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. The outstanding dynamism of the car is also achieved thanks to the rear-wheel drive, an extremely well-balanced weight distribution and a low centre of gravity.

Lightweight manual transmission for rapid and accurate gear shifts

The transmission in the 124 Spider comprises a 6-speed manual transmission with a compact and lightweight structure. The couplings are direct and fluid, and lever manoeuvrability is optimal. The selection of this type of transmission makes it possible to use a compact rear differential unit that increases efficiency while reducing fuel consumption. The clutch pedal was optimised to allow the driver to control the pickup phase precisely and make quick gear changes to maximise driving pleasure.

Suspension and steering devised for excellent driving dynamics
In the front, the new 124 Spider uses an elegant quadrilateral suspension, whereas the rear adopts a multilink architecture for total vehicle control in a curve. Thanks to the dual pinion electric power steering, the steering of the 124 Spider is light and reactive, and filters road stress. The interlocking applied directly on the rack ensures extremely precise command feedback, even when lateral accelerations are particularly high. The position of the steering column, together with the transmission ratio of the steering, guarantees a linear response that adapts to any driving style.

Safety

The new Fiat 124 Spider offers an extensive range of devices, both standard and optional, for active and passive safety. LED rear light clusters, four airbags and ABS are always supplied as standard, in addition to sophisticated stability control systems. Indeed, ESC increases the driver's vehicle control, allowing him or her to maintain a stable direction in all driving conditions. It is useful in critical situations, e.g. on corners and mixed surfaces in the presence of snow, ice and gravel. The ESC applies selective braking and acts on the accelerator to take the car back on line if a difference between the driver's action and trajectory is detected. Last but not least, EBD adjusts front and rear brake force distribution so as to optimise braking distances and control in all load conditions of the car.

The three-point seat belts, with pretensioners, fit Constant-Force Retractors (CFR) to control the degree of force applied by the belt onto the occupant and then gradually release it in a controlled manner. What's more, the active load limiters optimise chest protection depending on the weight in the case of impact.

The body is made with high-tensile materials, with dedicated structural elements designed specifically to warp and absorb energy in the event of impact, thereby improving protection for the occupants. The steering columns is designed for energy absorption, and the brake pedal is non-intrusive: all these solutions help reduce the extent of injuries in the event of an accident.

Other features make the driving experience at the wheel of the new Fiat 124 Spider truly comfortable. These include, for instance, the rear parking assistance system, ParkSense, which detects any objects at a standstill during reverse parking at low speed, and the rear camera, which provides a wide-angle view of the area immediately behind the vehicle. There are also systems available, such as Keyless Entry designed to open the car and start the engine while keeping your car keys in your pocket, as well as light and rain sensors.

Lastly, you can also order a voice-controlled infotainment system that allows the driver to use a Bluetooth-compatible phone while keeping their hands firmly on the steering wheel and without taking their eyes off the road. The first time the Bluetooth and phone are paired, the phone directory is downloaded automatically and synchronised. Subsequently, contacts can simply be selected by saying the corresponding name out loud. The system also allows the driver to select one of the radio modes available, and to tune in to AM/FM stations and digital radio.

Heritage
The Fiat 124 Sport Spider was presented at the Turin International Motor Show in November 1966, and it was launched on the US market two years later. Almost 50 years after its début, the 124 Spider is still an icon for collectors and car enthusiasts alike. The Spider was fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox, a 1438 cm3 twin camshaft engine and disc brakes on all four wheels and intermittent windscreen wipers.

The 124 Spider, an evolution of the Fiat medium-range saloon car from the 1960s, the 124, was a genuine sports car which was extremely successful for a considerable period of time, both on the domestic market and outside it. The car, which was produced for 19 years in a row, in fact outlived almost all other sports cars of its time. In the United States alone, over 170,000 Spiders were sold between 1968 and 1985.

Americans were mad about the proportions and noticeably Italian style of the Spider, as well as its waterproof soft top that could be lowered directly from the driver's seat very quickly and simply. The design of the 124 Spider – created by Pininfarina, Fiat's historic partner in the creation of special versions - proved so popular that the vehicle in fact underwent just a few minor stylistic updates during its twenty-year-long production stint, and it is still considered today one of the major commercial successes of the Turin-based bodyshop.

In Europe, the second series of the model was presented in 1969, and it stands out for its supersized engine of 1608 cm3 and certain styling modifications, including the two panels on the front bonnet and the larger rear light clusters; lastly, in 1972, the third series was launched on the market, and this model boasted two new drive trains, derived from the Fiat 132, with a displacement of 1592 and 1756 cm³.

In the United States, almost ten years after it was first launched, the Fiat 124 Spider had proven so successful that Fiat decided to produce the vehicle exclusively for that market from 1975 onwards. In 1979 the vehicle was renamed Spider 2000, in reference to its new 1995 cm3 engine.

Towards the end of 1981, Pininfarina redesigned the entire production process for the car, which was re-introduced onto the market in Europe. In 1982, Spider production by Fiat and Pininfarina overlapped: while Fiat produced the latest models of the Spider 2000, Pininfarina began to produce its own version, sold in the USA as the Pininfarina Spider Azzurra and in Europe as the Pininfarina Spider Europa. On the Pininfarina Spider Azzurra, leather upholstery, stereo system/cassette player and electric windows came as standard.

Production of the Spider model ceased in 1985, after almost 200,000 cars had been sold. With its American début at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2015, followed by the European launch at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016, the new Fiat 124 Spider is deeply rooted in the traditions of this legendary car and it intends to make a new generation of car enthusiasts fall in love with it style and with its typically Italian performance levels.

With any solution, customers can count on dedicated policies designed to be functional to the car's characteristics: “On Top Protection” is a dedicated cover for protecting the soft top, both in the event of accidental damage as well as acts of vandalism, while “Sun-Days Protection” is an innovative policy that refunds non-usage of the car in the event of excessive rain during summer weekends (more than 4 mm of rain and less than two hours of sunshine for 2 week-ends in a row between May and September).

There are also all the usual insurance services designed to protect both vehicle and customer. These include Protected Loan, which guarantees payment of part of the financing in the event of unforeseeable contingencies such as a job loss, and services including fully comprehensive insurance, collision insurance, GAP (Guaranteed Asset Protection) and VIN etched windows.

Every European market in which FCA Bank operates will adapt its offering, using the financing solutions described and adapting them better to suit individual requirements.

Mopar for the new 124 Spider

Mopar – FCA's reference brand for services, Customer Care, genuine spare parts and accessories – has devised a dedicated line of accessories that emphasises the stylistic features of the new Fiat 124 Spider. The customisation range is completed by a glossy black line which emphasises the car's Luxury soul. From the windscreen surround to the seat headrest trims, from the door mirrors to the specific alloy wheel rim kit, through to the interior characterisation provided by the cup holders and the air intakes. Cup holders and air intakes are also available in silver and red, respectively.
